Compressor

How it works

Your browser decodes each image, re-encodes it at the quality you choose, and hands the smaller file straight back to you. In Target size mode it searches for the highest quality that fits under your limit — and downscales pixels only if it has to. JPG and WebP compress best; PNG is lossless, so for big savings convert PNGs to WebP or JPG.

Frequently asked questions

Is it really free with no limits?

Yes. Compression happens on your device, so there are no server costs to pass on — no file-size caps, no daily quota, no signup.

Does the quality slider ruin my photo?

At 80–90% most photos are visually identical to the original at a fraction of the size. Below ~60% you may start noticing artifacts in flat areas and sharp edges.

Why did my PNG barely shrink?

PNG is lossless — there's no quality dial to turn. Pick WebP or JPG as the output format for dramatic savings, or use the resize option to reduce pixel dimensions.
